An MP has caused uproar on social media after suggesting that the popular mobile application Pokemon Go should be banned in Cyprus.
Diko MP Angelos Votsis questioned why the game hasn’t been banned yet since it ‘endangers people’s lives’ citing the road safety risks associated with it.
Pokemon Go has been a huge phenomenon and uses augmented reality to present you with virtual characters in front of you with the aim to capture all of the animal-like creatures.
It has become the biggest mobile game ever, with a reported 21 million daily active users in the US alone.
The MP went on to raise the question if it will eventually get banned once an actual accident occurs.
It is not yet known if he will bring up this matter in parliament, but fans of the game have nonetheless been left unimpressed with his comments.
